The Pyrenees rise in the north of Navarra, offering us a landscape of high peaks and deep valleys, shady forests and bright alpine meadows, gorges and ravines.
They decline gently from east to west and the landscape is transformed and makes us go from the karst escarpments of the Larra massif and the large expanses of beech-fir forest of the Irati Forest, to the evergreen and humanized landscape of the Baztán-Bidasoa valley, or to the imposing plateaus of the Sierras de Aralar-Urbasa.
And from the muga de Aragón to the Cantabrian coast, the landscape is not only transformed; The continental climate also changes, and as it approaches the sea it becomes Atlantic.
The varied and attractive rural architecture is added to the charm of the landscape: the compact nuclei of narrow and cobbled streets, typical of the Eastern Pyrenees, are hamlets scattered across valleys and slopes in the Atlantic Pyrenees.
